Here in NJ, before we lost the foothold trap in 1984. Every rat trapper trapping streams, lakes, and swamps knew about and used rat lures. When we lost the foot trap, many for those sets like the pocket, crawl up log set, mock feed bed, and the shallow run set was lost. The conibear and colony trap became the only rat traps for the most part. Very few use the snare for rats now but I will tell you the rat snare is one heck of a tool that I have found to take the place of the foot trap we lost, and the scent makes the snare even better on floats, rat torpedos, pocket sets, shallow run set, and baited colony trap. Our FEED BED muskrat lure is one of those scents that fit the nitch with the above-mentioned sets. A food and curiously scent that attracts muskrats all year long. one of those scents from REDNECKS PRIDE OUTDOORS that you want to have as a rat trapper.
